Ditch The Razor

First things first, it’s time to ditch the razor. Areas that you plan to wax will no longer require shaving. In fact, shaving will only complicate the waxing process. For effective waxing services, you’ll need your unwanted body hair to be at least a quarter inch long. You also shouldn’t shave in between your body waxing appointments either. Shaving with a razor causes your hair to become more coarse, which can make it more difficult to remove by waxing. It can also make your hair more susceptible to breakage which can lead to ingrown hairs. Simply put, ditch the razor!

Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate

Secondly, it’s important to exfoliate the areas you want to be waxed before your appointment. In fact, it’s best to get into the habit of exfoliating a few times per week. By removing the surface layer of dead skin cells, you allow the wax to get a better grip on unwanted hair. Regular exfoliation will also help reduce your chances of developing ingrown hairs caused by breakage.

Establish A Routine

Last but not least, it’s important to establish a regular waxing routing. For veteran waxers, you can probably go six weeks between unDONE appointments. If you’re a beginner, on the other hand, you will probably need to schedule appointments approximately four weeks apart. Keep in mind that over time, you will be able to stretch this out because regular waxing will cause your hair to grow back finer and more slowly. Benefits of regular waxing also include easier, less painful waxing down the road because it becomes easier to remove each time.
