Letting Go & Forever Feeling unDONE
Most of you know the story of unDONE Salon, but I feel the need to recap on this.
It has been almost a decade since we have opened our doors. A dream of building a salon and a team that had one goal – to be the best possible version of ourselves and our career. unDONE was created because each of us are not done until we die and God has made that choice for us. Every day we put one foot in front of the other and no matter what is in front of us, we must move on. This year seems to be the year I have had to do this more so than ever.
Losing half my staff, I have learned so many things, and I am rebuilding once again but stronger than ever, and I look forward to the new decade! We are rebranding and welcoming a stronger team of stylists. With newer salons showing up on every corner, the competition has gotten harder, and we have to look at the way stylists are moving forward and also our clients.
But I’m not the only one who has struggled this year. Working behind the chair and hearing other’s struggles and hardships has also made me want to close this year for them as well. Friends with cancer, clients with loss of family, divorce, addiction, closure of dreams, loss of children, abuse, and just plain emotional bankruptcy.
Closing this year will bring many new opportunities we just have to remember the gratitude that every trial brings and to hold fast. God has a plan, and there is freedom in saying goodbye to hurt and betrayal and hello to a new beginning.
Let us welcome 2020 and everything it may bring!
